Future Asian Business Leadership: CKJ(China, Korea & Japan) Asia Business Field Study

(Credit: 2 credits, Enrollment limit: Max 12 students)

We are pleased to announce the opening of the "Future Asian Business Leadership: CKJ (China, Korea & Japan) Asia Business Field Study" and invite interested MBA students to apply.

This unique international program aims to foster a deep understanding of the cultures, business environments, and industries of Asia. Selected students from Yonsei University (Korea), Tsinghua University (China), and Keio University (Japan) will form multinational teams to explore current global business challenges. Through company visits and collaborative projects, participants will engage in field research, develop a business case report, and build valuable cross-border networks with fellow future business leaders.

📌 Program Dates

July 6(Mon.) - July 9(Thu.), 2026

📌 Course Objectives

  • To promote discussion and comparative analysis among MBA students from Korea, China, and Japan on business environments, industries, and companies in Asia.
  • To conduct field studies focused on a representative theme chosen by the host school: "Global Industrial Exposure Program in Malaysia"
  • To gain insight into strategic issues and growth opportunities faced by visited companies.
  • To examine key success factors and strategies relevant to firms in both Asian and global markets.

📌 Course Format & Key Details

  • Participants will be selected from each school and assigned to multinational teams to work on a term project.
  • Pre-program collaboration, if required, may take place via video conferencing and online communication.
  • On-site activities, including company visits and team meetings, will be held during the in-person program hosted by Tsinghua University.
  • Each team will complete a business case report based on a company visited during the program.
  • An online portal (e.g., LinkedIn Group) will be used for submitting reports and presentations. 

📌 Term Project & Grading (subject to change)

  • Each team will be assigned a company or organization as the subject of its case or policy report.
  • The final deliverable is a team-written case project with strategic recommendations.
  • Participation & Engagement: 50% / Team Presentation & Final Report: 50%

📌 Expenses

  • The host university will cover local expenses during the program period(July 6 to July 9), including accommodation, meals, and local transportation for pick-up and send-off.
  • Each student is required to pay for their own air travel expenses.
  • All participants are required to have comprehensive travel insurance for the program. Please note that students must purchase their own travel insurance at their own expense.

📌 Eligibility

  • Open to students in the Corporate MBA, Finance MBA, Executive MBA, Global MBA, and Advanced MBA programs
  • Applicants must have sufficient English proficiency to participate in an academic course conducted entirely in English.

  • Maximum number of participants: 12

  • Final selection results will be announced by May 26(Tue.)

📌 Important Notes

  • If a visa is required for entry into Malaysia, participants are responsible for their own visa processing.
  • This course is not counted toward the summer semester course limit (C/F MBA: 3 credits / GMBA: 6 credits)
  • Under the regulations of the Graduate School of Business, C/FMBA students may take up to 6 credits of Leadership Development courses. Please consult with your MBA program coordinator before applying.
  • The statement of purpose will be the most important criterion in the selection process.
  • Due to scheduling overlap, participants cannot enroll in Module 1 courses during the summer semester.
  • A tentative program schedule is attached for reference.
