On Sep 1st, 2018, the freshmen class of the Yonsei Global MBA Program started their school life with the dream of becoming outstanding global CEOs. In preparation, an orientation was held on the 23rd and 24th of August, 2018.

This year’s class consists of 35 Global MBA students. Among those, 65% came from abroad representing 14 different countries. The orientation event started with a warm welcome and greetings from Dean Yeong Ho Eom, Associate Dean Il Im, and Academic Director Professor Soonhong Min.

Freshman students were given guidance regarding the campus, academics, student life and student exchange programs to avoid difficulties during their school life here at Yonsei. Also, there was an introduction on Seoul life for foreign students who were not yet familiar with living in Korea. During the campus tour, a professional team-building agency provided team projects and activities to help students build team-work, cooperation and leadership skills by solving problems together.

Orientation is the time to get to know each other. New students introduced themselves and began to build friendships with their classmates. Also, they had time to meet and network with their Global MBA seniors.

Allyce Best (from the U.S.), Global MBA class of 2020 said, “I feel proud to have become a member of Yonsei and appreciate all the encouragement and support from the professors.” She added “I heard that it is very important in Korea to have good relationships with various people and I hope to broaden my network while interacting with diverse communities in the Global MBA Program.” Finally, she showed her satisfaction with this program thus far by saying, “as students are from all different backgrounds, I can learn from their diverse points of view and see points from different perspectives. In this way, I’m learning from other students every day.”

To welcome and help new students feel at home, Global MBA alumni provided gifts for the incoming class.
