Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is currently in a revenue-producing role within a market research supplier or within the CPG or Retail practice of a top-tier consulting firm (originating or selling material add-on work) as a Director or Consultant position. He/she may also be working in an Analytics function within a CPG or Retail environment where they have held considerable revenue or SG&A responsibility.

What will I be doing?

As a Strategic Analytics Consultant you will be part of the Strategic Analytics Commercial team, this position is the face of our organization to our clients. This individual will manage 30-40 client relationships, with an average of 10-12 clients possessing active engagements at any one time. Opportunities or sales leads are typically sourced from our client dedicated Client Insights team and provide us the opening to discuss our service offerings with clients in need to pricing, promotion, assortment, forecasting, trend-spotting and other analytic solutions. The Strategic Analytics Commercial Consultant will manage client engagement from the pre-sales stage all the way through delivery of insights & recommendations and play a participating role in the implementation and adoption of IRI’s SaaS solution deployments in select clients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand and articulate the benefits and value propositions of the Strategic Analytics portfolio of products.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships that position IRI’s Strategic Analytics as an indispensable partner and go-to provide of analytic solutions and consultation.
  • Be conversant in IRI’s analytic methodologies and be able to translate those into layman terms for a range of analytically skilled client contacts.
  • Manage and prioritize client-demands and project deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales plans to ensure the success of your portfolio and the larger Strategic Analytics Commercial team.

Requirements

  • A deep knowledge of Revenue Growth Management (price, promotion, trade) practices and techniques.
  • An understanding of the Category Management process and how manufacturer organizations partner with their retail customers to maximize in-store shelf productivity.
  • Knowledge of forecasting and other analytics techniques is a plus.
  • 5+ years of CPG or related industry experience
  • Strong Excel skillset with a proficiency in PowerPoint, and CRM software. Candidates should have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to comfortably hold a dialogue with clients that will range from entry-level to c-suite
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution; an advanced degree in business or quantitative discipline is strongly preferred. MBA strongly preferred.
