Commercial Banking offers clients the convenience and vast banking network of Chase, combined with the thought leadership and global financial capabilities of J.P. Morgan. Corporate Client Banking Overview

The role is part of Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries within the Commercial Bank and is responsible for managing relationships with public and private companies focusing on clients in the mid-cap segment. This group provides traditional corporate banking products as well as investment banking products to its clients.  Our business partners include product specialists from Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, M&A, Treasury Services, Risk Management and Private Banking.  This position reports into the Head of CCBSI Korea.

Job Description

As a Relationship Manager/Banker in our Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries (CCBSI) group, you will be responsible for providing leadership to deal teams and accountability for pitch book preparation and transaction execution, while ensuring coordination among analysts, senior deal team members, and credit underwriting. As a member of the team, you will play an integral part in helping to gain, manage and maintain client relationships. 

The team is responsible for managing relationships with Korea-headquartered companies focusing on clients with global operation and growth aspiration. CCBSI provides traditional corporate banking products as well as investment banking products to its clients.  Our business partners include product specialists from M&A Advisory, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Treasury Services, Credit and Risk Management. 

Additional responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess credit transaction risks, structuring and documentation of credit requests
  • Collaborate with credit underwriting team on analysis, structuring and documentation of credit requests
  • Provide support around capital structure analysis, concentrating on syndicated leveraged finance transactions, interest rate and currency hedging, high grade and high yield bonds, and asset backed securities
  • Work with Corporate Bankers to help generate new revenue opportunities either from prospects or existing clients

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of Corporate Banking or Investment Banking experience with a strong corporate finance / credit background
  • Participation in a Commercial or Investment Banking Analyst Training Program preferred
  • Strong credit, analytical, and modeling skills
  • Knowledge of Investment Banking products and preferably execution experience
  • Excellent problem solving, oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to be a highly motivated, productive team player. Partnership skills are essential as work will often overlap with industry partners, product partners and investment banking teams
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and proactive
  • Outstanding ethics, integrity and judgment
  • Superior Excel and Power Point skills
