About the Job

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. As a Financial Accountant, you will be a key contributor in managing the different risks within a high growth environment. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with international accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and tax regulations, including management of the external audit and tax compliance for a portfolio of Google entities in Korea.
  • Perform regular in-depth analysis on the financials, ensuring the integrity and financial accuracy of local books and records.
  • Represent Accounting and Finance with our business partners through effective communication with in-country business managers, Technical Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Regulatory Compliance, Internal Audit, and Financial Planning.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in accounting for K-IFRS reporting; providing jurisdictional expertise and partner with key stakeholders for products implementation/launch.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of tools and applications in support of the accounting function and highlight opportunities for improvement, managing projects that will grow efficiency through automation, optimization, and extended workforce.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or public multinational tech companies
  • Ability to speak and write in Korean and English fluently

Preferred qualifications:

  • CPA or equivalent certification
  • Ability to work independently as well as being team oriented
  • Ability to effectively operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, and detail-oriented
