We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Assistant Manager, Group Public Affairs Support.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the wider HSBC relationship with ASIFMA and leading on some committees
  • Regular public policy /regulatory policy tracking, monitoring and identification of key issues for HSBC; producing briefings about important developments on priority issues that are likely to impact HSBC’s business activities and that of our clients
  • Actively participate in and support GPA thematic projects, including conducting analyses and reports necessary to develop policy positions, support the business and their client relationships
  • Produce regular reporting for HBAP CEOs on public policy developments, and what they might mean for HSBC’s business
  • Carry out more in-depth analysis on key developments in public-policy that present challenges and opportunities for HSBC, for example, the Ethical AI, Central Bank Digital Currencies and stable coins
  • Support the GPA team with analysis that optimises its contribution to the various business steering committees that drive business in HBAP, for example, GBA and sustainable finance
 
Qualifications

Requirements

  • An honours or master degree from a top quality University
  • An interest – and if possible, grounding – in international affairs and economic issues
  • An understanding of the history and recent developments of the Asian regions, particularly of China and Hong Kong
  • a facility with numbers and basic maths
  • Fluent communication skills in English
  • Good IT and presentational skills
