English/Korean Bilingual Translator / Copy Editor

 

[Responsibilities]

-      Translate Korean source strings in the fields of game, ICT, law, business, etc. into English.

-      Edit and proofread translated texts, ensuring the accuracy of the translation and compliance with customer requirements and glossaries.

-      Review and revise documents to ensure that materials are of the highest quality.

-      Interpret scientific and technical information; identify and prioritize critical content; ensures information aligns with the audience and is consistent with style guides and instructions; re-write and edit material for clarity.

-      Ensure accuracy of scientific, medical, or technical terminology, completion of procedural steps, and effective presentation of textual, tabular, and graphic materials.

-      Analyze materials in terms of conformity to required style, glossary and manner of presentation and reorganize or revise accordingly.

-      Maintain glossaries and reports on translation tasks.

-      Evaluate the work of translators, and prepare materials and instructions.

-      Review and revise documents to ensure that materials are of the highest quality.

-      Produce engaging scripts and storyboards (something in between technical and creative writing)

-      Collaborate with art directors, graphic designers, and programmers.

 

[Skills Required for Position]

-      Bachelor’s Degree; preferably in English, communication, journalism, software engineering, computer science, technical writing, teaching, curriculum development or scientific publication, or the equivalent in professional experience.

-      Ability to deliver high-quality documentation paying attention to detail.

-      Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Korean communication skill is plus, but not required.

-      Must be able to set goals, prioritize multiple objectives with various deadlines, and independently manage documentation projects.

-      Collaborate with art directors, graphic designers, and programmers.

-      Ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences.

-      Practical technology aptitude to understand software, process automation, and general operation of programing being documented.

-      Exposure to MSTP (Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications) and basics of technical writing a plus

-      Conduct extensive research on the assigned topic and identify the core message and the target audience.

-      Ability to use your initiative to develop concepts, storyboards, and write script content for various types of videos, programs or designs as per the requirement.

-      Ability to write in a variety of formats and styles suitable for various target audiences.

-      Revising the script until the desired quality and sharpness of the concept is achieved.

-      Capable of working under pressure but still have an eye for detail.

-      Caliber to write short and catchy descriptions or catch phrases for videos which can inspire viewers to watch created videos.

 

[Required education and experience]

Bachelor’s Degree

Technical writing and translating experience more than 1 year.
