SUMMARY

GR Korea is looking to recruit an Public Policy Associate Consultant for our office in Seoul (Yeongdeungpo-gu), to support our work on a range of Korean public policy issues. 

We are looking for an individual with three to five years’ experience in public policy consulting, and a background preferably in the government. Candidates who have worked in a strategy consultancy, or international business are also encouraged to apply. The chosen candidate will be required to work in a client-facing capacity, on a variety of accounts spanning different sectors. A high level of English is essential.

GR Korea is part of the GR Group, a rapidly growing international government relations and public affairs consulting firm with offices in Seoul, Tokyo, Washington D.C., London and Osaka. There will be opportunities, the Covid-19 situation permitting, to travel to other offices, but you will be part of the Seoul team, working closely with your colleagues in Seoul and around the world. GR Korea and the GR Group provide career opportunities at the intersection of business and government, helping world-leading corporations, NGOs, industry associations and other stakeholders engage effectively with government and on public policy discussions.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Fluent spoken and written Korean and English is essential
• Three to five years’ relevant experience, for example in government, government relations, politics, a strategy consultancy, or international business
• Strong understanding of Korean policies and the policy-making process, and a working knowledge of Korean government and politics
• A creative and proactive approach to solving complex, policy-related challenges as part of an expert international team
• A strong desire to contribute to policy dialogue in Korea and to tackle real policy challenges
• Ability to meet client needs and handle client relationships skilfully
• A positive, can-do attitude
• A person without reasons for disqualification of travelling abroad

RESPONSIBILITY

• Conducting client-specific research into current policy issues and contributing to reports
• Helping to implement strategic outreach and engagement plans with policy stakeholders
• Working with colleagues on a variety of important policy challenges
• All-round support as part of the GR Korea and GR Group team, including generating ideas and proposals for new business development

EDUCATION

• Good university degree (2:1 or higher) in a related subject (such as public policy, economics, politics, communications or international relations)

• 비지니스 커뮤니케이션 가능한 수준의 영어를 구사하는 자
